Dr. Clark is board certified in Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry. He trained in Pediatrics at Boston City Hospital, and in both Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was on the faculty of Harvard Medical School  for 19 years, where he worked as medical director of the Children and the Law Program at Massachusetts General Hospital.  He is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Boston University School of Medicine, had served as the Chief of Outpatient Psychiatry at Boston Medical Center, and is now the Director of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry there. 

Dr. Clark has devoted much of his career to working with children, adolescents, and parents including having had a Cambridge based private practice for 20 years, treating children in a trauma focused clinic, and conducting in depth forensic evaluations of children and families for court related matters. 

Dr. Clark practices a warm, down to earth style of engagement in therapy, drawing on a variety of therapeutic modalities in the service of overcoming barriers and fostering growth. 

Dr. Clark employs a judicious approach to prescribing psychiatric medication, and strives to prescribe only when necessary, and only for as long as necessary.  

Dr. Clark does not accept insurance plans in his private practice. He will provide you with an invoice that you can submit to your insurance if you have out of network coverage.
